Chris Young lost a bloop single in the, uh, grass, and Willie Bloomquist couldn't scoop the throw, and McCutchen just kept on chugging to third. He probably should have broken for home—I'm sure Miguel Montero would have spontaneously combusted before receiving the ball, and whoever was backing up the throw would have stumbled into a pit of piranhas.
