Andy Murray Is Really, Really Excited For His Rematch Against Federer [Video]

Aug 3, 2012 4:22 PM

Andy Murray Is Really, Really Excited For His Rematch Against Federer So, the tennis gods have to let Andy Murray win on Sunday, right?

Murray defeated Novak Djokovic in two high-energy sets today, and now we get this deliriously awesome men's Final for Sunday. Murray v. Federer, again, on the same court the two played on a month ago for the Wimbledon final.

Murray finished that one in tears. This time? Uh, he was pretty into it, and so was the crowd:

And Federer? He's been talking about winning Sunday's match for seven years. I guess we'll all be waking up early on Sunday!

Oh, ha, and the women's final is Serena Williams v. Maria Sharapova. Tennis at the Olympics does indeed matter now.

Team USA Is A 54-Point Favorite Against Tunisia Tonight [Team USA]

Jul 31, 2012 1:40 PM

Team USA Is A 54-Point Favorite Against Tunisia TonightHot off the presses, from online sportsbook Bovada (formerly Bodog): the men's basketball team is favored by a whopping 54 points tonight. Poor Tunisia.

"In my days in this business I cannot remember setting a spread so high for a basketball game," says Kevin Bradley, Bovada's sportsbook manager. Even so, "65 percent of the money is still coming in on the USA and the pace has been steadily increasing all morning."

So, 54 points? That's sort of insane-sounding, but the U.S. women did beat Angola by 52 yesterday. With an over/under of 164, Vegas is expecting a final score in the neighborhood of 109-55. That's a per-quarter score of about 27-14. So while Tunisia may not have much of a chance at a competitive game tonight, betting—as usual—can make it nerve-wracking.

Tip-off is at 5:15 EDT.

Australia Forced Overtime Against France With A 55-Foot Buzzer-Beater Australia's Belinda Snell hit a buzzer-beater from beyond half court to force overtime today against France in early-round women's basketball action. The contested shot kept the Australians alive against world-beaters France, which defeated Brazil over the weekend.

In the end, it was all for naught as France pulled out the 74-70 overtime win.
